Portfolio Final

Image
Creating the portfolio project was like wrapping up the whole semester into one neat package. It was surprisingly fun to put together and edit, especially because it meant revisiting all the cool stuff we did in class. Looking back at my past assignments, I couldn't help but notice how much I've improved throughout the semester. Plus, it was pretty cool to realize I didn't need any help and didn't run into any issues while making the portfolio. The only real struggle was picking a template from the gazillion options on Adobe Stock. But after some searching, I found one that worked perfectly. Seeing all my work laid out in the portfolio got me thinking about how I could've done things differently in the past and how I can use what I've learned in other areas outside of school.Overall, putting together the portfolio was a rewarding experience that made me appreciate how much I've grown. Now, I'm just hoping for a good grade on the project!

Bus Card

For my Bus card I found the project to be actually pretty enjoyable. I found the challenge of creating multiple different design using the colors chosen from a past project to be pretty fun. Also I found this to be a quite useful assignment as I could definitely see myself possibly making myself a real business card at some point in my life. Out of the three I designed and colored I found the 3rd one to be my favorite, the smile fonts and the lack of eye catching color make the card feel professional and to me o believe that it could actually be a real business card. Again, with this project I seem to be finding errors when it comes to submitting the pdf here on blogger but I'm sure this dilemma will be discussed in class on Wednesday.

Post Card

For this project I choose to base my postcard off of Nashville TN. I chose Nashville because im planning a trip to go see my friend this coming fall. This project was definitely the most frustrating for me as I have very little experience using this adobe program. I also tried to experiment with my tag brush, I felt like the graffiti look to it just didn't work with my postcard, so I just made a new one using the brush tool. Not sure if I'm aloud to do that but I did and I personally think it looks better then the graffiti tag brush would have looked. Im happy with how it turned out and I feel like the final card gets the point across that it is a postcard from the solar eclipse in Nashville TN in 2024.

Animation Submission

Image
For this assignment I was deftly the most challenged I have been yet when it comes to projects. I really struggled to find inspiration and once I finally figured out what I needed I struggled using the animation timeline in photoshop to make my final GIF. I wanted to do something that was making a golf shot and originally I had just recored myself putting on my practice green. I then realized that I needed to capture each frame from the video, at this point I didn't know to to extract EVERY frame from my video so I ended up just take the video over again but this time using burst photos so that I could get roughly 30 frames per second in my video. I really struggled with getting the tag brush up as well as the other font that I used in order to type my name and there "the end" part. overall I enjoyed this project as it challenged me to do something that to be completely honest I didn't think I would be able to do.
Anim Homework https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uawQR5UudtU This video is a short and easy tutorial on how to create a time a line and how to start using key frames. The video goes over the basics and teachers the user how to use smart objects in the animation. It goes over the diamond and the arrow in the key frame settings. The creator of the video makes it easy and understandable. I feel like. could make a 30 second gif based off of this video alone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Llr_KTNtdlk this video goes over how to start the animation file correctly when using animation tools in photoshop. I didn't realize that there was more to just using different photos and timing them together, In the video the creator goes over how to edit keyframes individually as well as how to use photoshop tools and the animations tools in unison.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBWd_yJOA6s In this video the creator goes over how to animate multiple layers in order to make a simple GIF animat...

Somewhere

Image
In this project I decided to throw myself into the world of the PGA by taking a photo of myself and implementing it into an image captured earlier in the season next to player Rickie Fowler. I found this project challenging and satisfying to complete as I was comfortable using the tools that are available to me as I felt well prepared based off of the assignments I had to complete in class. The images on the top are other images that I thought about putting my picture into, but ultimately I decided the one with the crowd because I feel like if I had chosen the other images I would of stuck out too much. I enjoy the sport of golf and I play quite frequently, so I enjoyed putting myself in the images.

  1.  This image looks like it would be difficult to but myself into because of how much is going on in the background, I feel that it would be troubling to make the lighting good as well. 2. This image gave me some inspiration because I wanted to do my project on someplace in nature, I feel like putting my face in the foreground would be challenging and fun. 3. I found this funny as it is a pretty easy fix or request to do but whoever made the edit did it in a funny way. 4. I like the illusion of reflection on the water. I think its neat and I could be used to make some pretty cool effects in photoshop.

In this project we had to take a photo in which we felt like the subject was being emotionally  impactful, this image shows uncertainty and wonder as the subject looks out of the window with curiosity. As for the color types I chose this was based on Adobecolor.com and its color wheel feature. I chose colors that I felt could go with each other but also be different enough from teacher. Another goal of mine was to catch the eye of the viewer.      The Triad color scheme uses multiple different tools in the adobe photoshop catalogue such as the the quick selection tool, lasso tool and the magic wand tool. I feel as if this version I struggled with the most as it was the first one I made out of the three, I also like the colors on this one the least as I just am not the biggest fan of yellow and it was a color adobe said would go with the others.     The second photo uses only the magic wand tool and I personally find it to be my favorite...

This photo from the video I personally brought me closer to my emotions becasue it reminds me of how sometimes music is all people have. This image to me shows a man who is clenching onto what is to be assumed his guitar as if it is the only thing he has that is actually his. This image reminds me that for some music is the only thing they have to enjoy. While I, myself enjoy listing to music frequently and it is a way for me to take some time to myself and reflect on what is goin on in my life. The man in the image looks sad as he clenches onto the guitar as if he is giving a hug to a loved one. It also appears the guitar is worn down and old, possibly a family heirloom or the man in the image has been using the same acoustic guitar for a long time and it might be all he has. In my image there is me standing in front of a window looking into the distance. The image shows a building in the window giving the setting some sort of downtown. there is also trees and a cloudy sky outsi...

For this work I wanted to base my statement off the idea that, it seem as if now people are always to uptight about every little thing that I going on in the world. I wanted to push the message that is it not only ok to but its good for people to take a step back from all that's happening and breathe. It allows for the person to calm themselves down and take a mindful moment to themselves, ideally this can allow the individual to realize that their struggles are temporary, not terminate and that they will pass with time. I drew inspiration from the outdoors and vintage national park posters for the background image as I believe that being outside in nature is the best and most optimal for achieving a relaxed state. With my current Illustrator skill I found it difficult to really put and make details in the background that didn't look silly so I decided to stick with a simple format without much detail. Overall I'm happy with how it came out and I really do mean the messag...

2-13-24 Owen Hudkins When creating this logo I wanted to keep it simple enough so that It could be shrinking down to smaller sizes or blown up to large sizes. I like the black and white one the most, as I fell it is the simplest and most elegant looking. When designing I did not want to just use the basic fonts that are already in illustrator, so I was determined to create my own font for the letter O and H, I believe that it came out nicely with the O being obviously placed on top of the H, while also having some separations between where the two letters would touch. That was probably the most difficult and tedious part of the whole project, getting the parts of the H to war around the O while also still maintaining the scrip took was a struggle, but I believe it came out nicely. The inspiration came from golf courses around the country who have distinctive logo, while simple in design they are all recognizable for their own uniqueness.

Dear future self,                       I am writing to you in my second semester of college at the University of Tampa. I currently live in the Vaughn dorms with my roommate Matt, he is new for this semester and a lot better than my roommate from last semester. So far, I am really enjoying college compared to high school, I feel that the workload is more. But I also feel that I have more time to do schoolwork. I also feel like I have more free time in general to do extracurriculars such as working out or even school sponsored intermural sports such as football or baseball. I play on a team with friends from the frat I joined, ZBT or Zeta Beta Tau is pretty much what I dedicated my first semester of school towards. The process of rushing the frat was a time consumer but I view it as worth my time. I’ve made some solid friendships that will last a lifetime while joining this fratern...
Ai HW 1     https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GzumUieDPY In this video it is sectioned into multiple parts. The part I found interesting was the section "Rectangle Tool" this tool allows the user to make basic shapes and design the size and color of the shape in which they use. The video also mentions the pen tool that we learned about in class this past Monday in class. Lastly there is text tool in which you canned typed words to your illustrator project. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rk-JGsriJ4o     This video gives a solid 10 minute definition of what the pen tool is and what it can do. Similar to what we did in class the video shows all the tools capabilities and uses. The video shows everything from a basic circle to tracing a complex figurine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqJQYW-AqZY This video gives a tutorial on how to use the blend too in illustrator. The video uses a flower as the object to make while in illustrator, the video shows everything fro...
Owen Hudkins      FMX 210 I/W/W/B      The internet, defined by the Merriam-Webster dictionary is defined as  an  electronic communications network that connects computer networks and organizational computer facilities around the world. Owen Hudkins 1-18-24     FMX 210 #1 Blog     My name is Owen Hudkins, I am a freshman here at the University of Tampa in my second semester at the university. I am born and raised in Tampa, and I graduated from Sickles High school, which is only a 30 minute drive from campus. While in high school I achieved and passed the test in order to get my industry certification in Adobe photoshop as well as  indesign, but to be completely honest, I haven't used indesign in years. On the other hand I use photoshop every now and again, which allows me to be relatively familiar with the program.       Aside from school, I am a golf junky, I love everything that the sport has to offer in both an athletic sense and a social basis that allows me to meet people from all industries who share the same love for the sport that I do. I also enjoy regularly working out in both the school gym and off campus gyms. My working out journey began early in the 9th grade i...
